At the time, things looked good from the outside.
But inside? I was exhausted. Overwhelmed. Always running late. Pouring a glass of wine every night just to take the edge off.
I was trying to prove my worth. I wouldn’t ask for help. I was saying yes when I wanted to say no. Classic people-pleaser with a side of secret resentment that got harder and harder to hide over time.
Up until that moment, I thought my thoughts just... happened. Like background noise I had no control over. The constant mental chatter, the stress spirals, that feeling like I was always behind – I figured that was just how life worked.
But this yoga teacher (who also happened to be a life coach) showed me something I'd never considered: I actually had a choice in how I experienced my own mind. That sent me down a rabbit hole of podcasts, books, and tools. I became genuinely curious about how our thoughts shape everything.
The turning point came when I understood that overwhelm wasn't actually the problem—it was simply information.
The shift happened gradually, then all at once.
In 2023, I sold nearly all of my things and took off on a nomadic adventure across the United States for 3.5 months, visiting many National Parks along the way.
After a few months of travel, I wanted to settle for a bit. I chose Montana to see if I could handle a northern winter – southern girl here – and a year and a half later, I'm still here... for now.
